English Speaking Pastor: John Slivkoff (Email)

John accepted Christ during childhood and discovered in college what a rewarding experience personal evangelism could be. After completing an undergraduate degree in mathematics at George Fox University he served as an administrative assistant at Fresno Pacific University in California. While there he and his newlywed wife Margy took a youth ministry position at a local cross-cultural church. It was during that time that he felt God's leading into full-time ministry. He then enrolled in Western Seminary earning his Master of Divinity. John has served in both pastoral ministries and as the Administrator of Ecola Bible School in Cannon Beach. In 2007 he accepted the call to serve as the pastor to the English - speaking congregation at Chinese Evangelical Church. John finds it especially rewarding to see people come to Christ and grow in their relationship with him. He and Margy have three grown children and a son-in-law, all of whom, they are grateful to say, are active followers of Jesus Christ. John enjoys tennis, cycling, reading and his two grandchildren. He has taken a charitable bicycle tour through Israel and tried hang-gliding, surfing, skin-diving and parasailing.
